The Place of Peace

The very sound of these words is like a drink of clear, cold water to a thirsty man or woman.  What is peace though and how can we get it personally?  Well, in the Word of God the word peace appears four hundred times.  In the Old Testament it comes to us through the Hebrew word “shaw-lome” or the more popular shalom.  The idea of shalom or peace comes from the idea that we can experience it when certain things are in place.

The experience of peace, whether we are talking about civil society, familial or personal can occur only when things are in “order”.  When everyone acts according to a civil code of order or law there is peace.  When members of a family act according to the rules of the home there is peace.  Individually when we order our lives according to the law of God we will always experience peace.  Peace is the result of order in our lives, order that comes from the Word of God and more specifically the laws of God.

I know, we are living in a generation that despises the rule of law and wants to be free to do “whatever I want”.  Hence we have come to a humanistic belief in many societies where truth and the validity of law is subjective to the persons’ own “feelings”.  If it feels good do it.  If you feel that it’s right, then it’s right for you even if it deprives someone else of their rights and freedoms.  Let’s face it though, there are absolutes, rights and wrongs,  truths and lies.  The challenge is to find the right and embrace it.  Well, you know where I’m going with this.  Right and wrong is defined and separated in the Word of God, the Bible.

True order for our lives is found in God’s Holy Word and is free for all!  God’s Word teaches us the proper order for our finances, families, personal lives and even our relationship with God our creator.  When divine order is in place in our personal lives, peace appears as the result.  As a result many can testify of the life changing power of Jesus Christ through the direction of his Word and the power of His Spirit.  All of the studies at Focus on Freedom are based on the Word of God and will give order to your life.  Some of the studies like “Financial Freedom” , “Dealing With Insecurities” , “The Power of the Tongue” , “What Does It Mean to Receive The Holy Ghost?” or even “Deliverance From Witchcraft” teach the order that God has planned for us in these areas of our lives.  When that order is put into place peace will flow like a river.

Are you in turmoil?  Is there no peace in your life?  It might just be that God wants to put order into your life and through that order give you great peace.  Sound good?  Check out some of the studies that deal with your situation, apply the principles and see if you experience peace in that area of your life?

Thanks for spending this time with me.  Know a friend who needs peace?  Send them a forward of this newsletter!  I pray your day is a great one and that peace will come to your spirit through Jesus Christ and His Word!

Here is the weekly inspirational scripture.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philip. 4:6-7 (KJV)
